Velvet, tassels, leopard and gold...
No.05 - A cocktail of beautiful, inspiring things to brighten up this season...
I feel that this week is about reignite the fire and inspiration from within. To move the energy and get inspired, seek inspiration in beauty, glamour, fashion, art, the senses and the season we are in. This letter is a curated mix of of what inspires me at the moment and creates that spark. I feel it’s time to reconnect with what truly lights us up and creates that feeling of being inspired and excited. The energies of the 11/11 portal is coming in… A golden energy will be activated. So, set the intention to be open to receive on that day. I’ll share more about the current energies and about the Venus ruled Full Moon in Taurus next week…
Until then, enjoy the beauty of life and stay present. Look up and see the beauty all around you, even if there’s a lot happening in the collective. Be selective of what’s in your field. Allow yourself to be moved by beauty. Slow down and savor your food and moments with loved ones. Drink your favorite tea while turning that first page of that book you want to start reading. It’s the small things. I just painted my nails in a dark, rich coffee brown while drinking my chai tea, listening to Melody Gardot. Now, time for a walk and some November sun before painting a commissioned line…
A new day to be grateful for in this experience of life. There is something in the air…
With love, Josephine

ON MY MIND:
Timeless pieces that I have on my wishlist in black and chocolate brown with a touch of gold: Belt from Rosewater House. Hair clip from Lié Studio. Coat from By Malene Birger. Sunglasses from Toteme. Sherling pillbox hat from Toteme. Velvet shirt & velvet trousers from Cos. Bag and scrunchie from Prada. Slingbacks from Arket. Skirt from Zara. Ring from Griegst. Boots from Birkenstock.
TASTE:
Roasted chestnuts on a beautiful plate, I would love to have this plate on my wall… Salt & butter. A screenshot from Caroline Feiffer’s stories.
INSPIRATION:
Gisele Azad has a beautiful Instagram account and is writing “Back to nature” for VOGUE Netherlands, sharing her life as she builds their home in the woods. Style and lifestyle and beauty - so much inspiration! About slow living and creating beauty in everything. This brown tassle belt from Le Sundial is so chic. Interior inspiration via Pinterest (source unknown) and a image from the home of Kristine Ellen Hockman. Yellow, creme, brown and a hint of black, mmm…
Two looks from Kristine Ellen Hockman. She has an incredible sense of style and an eye for the finest details and beauty! And her aesthetic, as well as her home is simply stunning. It’s all about the details… Silk trousers is on my wishlist, so nice to wear with knits…
A FIRE OF INSPIRATION:
I found myself in a deep Pinterest moment the other day, exploring so many wonderful images of style, femininity, feminine power, creativity, and the strength that comes from holding a clear vision, especially when looking at Miuccia Prada’s personal style and her exquisite sense of fashion. And her life’s work with her fashion design. I want to read more about her life and career… I also came across vintage fashion images from brands like Halston, photos of the ethereal, timeless style of Lee Radziwill, Carolyn Besette-Kennedy and Bianca Jagger. Catwalk images from Calvin Klein, VOGUE and Harper’s Bazaar from the ’90s… To collect and create moodboards, create and put together a feeling is my love language. I’ll share more of this inspiration in a moodboard upcoming letters… I can highly recommend creating time for your own Pinterest moments (a few throughout the week is good for my creative being and soul) and allowing yourself to be deeply inspired by whatever comes your way. One thing always leads to another… Weaving inspiration into a golden web.
LEOPARD:
Simplicity and less is more when wearing leopard. I would wear the leopard coat with a black or off white cashmere sweater and a pair of black trousers or black or brown jeans. And the same with the trousers, a black knit and a black coat. Coat from By Malene Birger. Flats from Toteme. Trousers from Lis-Bonne. Bag from & Other Stories. Cos also have a nice cardigan…
In December, Sotheby’s will hold its annual Fashion Icons auction, featuring items from Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s wardrobe, including a faux fur leopard coat from a Parisian flea market. Carolyn in leopard is endlessly inspiring - her style is 90s minimalism at its best. A timeless style, a constant source of inspiration.
PERFUME:
Did you know that it’s said that Carolyn Bessettes signature scent was an Egyptian Musc Oil? This one: Abdul Kareem Egyptian Musk. I would love to try that one day! I’m loving the descriptions and names of these perfumes. Subtle and earthy. Falling trees Régime des Fleurs/Artilleriet. Essential Parfums The Musc/Cow parfymeri. Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt/Artilleriet.
FOR THE HOME:
I love browsing through the art book section at antiquarian bookstores, and this book is one of my latest treasures: Ceramics of Picasso.
I would love to have this at home for my incense. Lion incense box from Astier de Villatte/Artilleriet.
My dear and inspiring friend Carolina Storm is sourcing so many beautiful things for Galerie Storm. This table lamp is absolutely stunning. Imagine standing in a window or on a table, paired with cream colored raw silk curtains…
